Officers and PCSOs led by Sergeant Lee-Ann Jordan had seized four of the souped-up two-wheelers by 3pm, they said. All were capable of more than 20mph, and one was able to do 30mph – twice the 15.5mph legal limit for e-bikes. One had had its chain removed and no longer functioned as a pedal bike.

A car driver was arrested for drugs possession and failing a roadside drugs test. Another person was arrested on suspicion of immigration offences, according to police at the scene.
